Ever Wish You Weren't So Impatient?

Lord,

I confess that patience is not my strong point. So right now I surrender my idea of when things should happen. I surrender the timing of all that frustrates and disappoints me. I even surrender my impatience while driving in crazy traffic. I am determined to walk in love, and to trust Your perfect timing. 

When impatience rears its ugly head, help me not to give in. Help me to wait with a good attitude. Help me not to tap my foot in impatience or grow exasperated, but instead walk in a constant state of surrender and trust, growing in this area by Your grace by always trusting Your timing. In Jesus’s precious name, Amen.

What Competes for God's Place in Your Heart? #CalmHeart

Lord, I am determined to keep You in the primary place in my heart. May fear, worry, anxiety, and all the crazy going on around me never take up more space in my heart than You. Will you please help me to recognize anything at all that competes for Your rightful position in my heart? Give me wisdom to resist putting anything in Your place, and fill me with Your light and truth and love and peace. In the wonderful name of Jesus, amen.

Let Your Heart Be Strong

Lord, 

May I always choose to be a woman who trusts Your plans and expects You to move. And may my heart remain courageous in the waiting period. Help me to keep my heart and my eyes fixed on You, God, not on my circumstances. By Your grace I will wait and I will be brave and of good courage. I will allow my heart to be stout and enduring. Help me, God, to be strong as I wait for and hope for and expect You to move in my life and in the situation(s) that concern me. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Hold On to Your Hope

Lord,

When things look impossible, help me not to surrender my hope. When the enemy attempts to steal my hope may I hold on all the tighter, with my heart and eyes focused on You. In spite of how things appear, Lord, Your amazing hope is a stabilizing anchor for  my soul. My circumstances are not my security—You are. You are my solid Rock. You are my anchor, Lord. Thank you for flooding my hope with Your hope as I trust in You. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Take Courage!

Lord,

My heart needs Your encouragement today. Will You please help me not to be fearful, worry, or allow my mind to dwell on the negative around me? Thank you for Your loving kindness, Your presence, and Your faithfulness. Thank you for NEVER leaving me. Thank you that You are always with me, You are always faithful, and that Your gracious hand is upon me, and so my heart is continually encouraged. In Jesus’s name, Amen

God is Inviting You to Be Still and Wait

Lord,

I confess that patience is not my strong suit. But I am learning that there are times for me to do and times for me to be still. And as much as I want to put my hands on the situation in front of me, I am sensing Your beautiful invitation to be still and rest. Ultimately I trust that You are sovereign and in complete control. 

So Lord, I place my trust and my concerns in Your capable, loving, powerful hands, and I allow my heart to be still. I will breathe in Your peace. And I will rest in You and wait for You. Thank you for filling me with Your peaceful presence as I wait in stillness. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
