I Need a Break!

Confession: I'm no good at juggling. Though I'm not a circus employee, I can relate to the clown in this painting: I'm attempting to do entirely too much. My life feels out of balance, unproductive and just plain off--and something has to give.

Over the past several months, I began to feel overwhelmed keeping up with blogging and Twitter. Part of the reason is you--you are all so interesting and wonderful. (I'm not entirely to blame here.*grin*) Unfortunately, while I love the connections I'm making with everyone, my writing is suffering because of it.

I'm well aware that some people are excellent multi-taskers, but I'm not one of them. I can only do so much and still do it well.
Though I limit myself to writing only one blog post per week, it's abundantly clear that I need a break. So, I'm taking a blogging and Twitter hiatus, effective immediately. I'm not sure how long my break will last, but I'm hopeful that God will:

Refresh and revive my heart

Restore the joy of writing

Reinstate my focus

And anything else He deems necessary

My heart's desire is to be productive for the Lord. Acts 20:24 says it all: "But my life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus..." But to do that, first I need to do this. Thank you for understanding.
In the meantime, may God bless you exceedingly above all you've dared to ask, think or imagine.
Hope to see you soon,

P.S. If you are a Word Chick, know that my prayers for you will continue.

I respect it anytime I see someone doing a "fast" of sorts from social media. I will be praying for you and will miss you!

Glad you are seeking first His kingdom and the rest will be added. Better to be obedient. Hugs! :O)

Sometimes, something's got to give. And we have to once again find that all-too-crucial balance. Best to you with your hiatus!

Such wisdom to recognize the need for break...and then to take it!! I can relate to the feelings you expressed. I pray you will be refreshed, revived and restored during this time. Will miss you for sure. :)

Julie, I'm so glad that when you perceived something was out of whack you decided to take action to correct it. A break from social media is always a good thing in my opinion. I know that God will bless this time immensely and give you peace as you juggle a few less plates. We will miss you to be sure, but also be happy for you as you rest, reflect, and refresh. Connecting with God can be your social media outlet!

I know how you feel. Life does become a juggling act and something usually falls to the ground. Enjoy your time off. Refresh, renew, restore....amen!

I am a little sad, since I just discovered you! I just recently got into blogging because of my own blog...and decided I wanted to follow only one godly blog, and chose YOU! So I guess I will have to wait on that. My husband has commented already that my own blog is taking up a lot of time...so you give me cause to reflect on where I am going also.

I will miss following your hair journey! With mine just completed, I am interested in those still on the path of going gray, and what they are learning as they become "real"--I sometimes feel like the Velveteen Bunny...worn, but learning I am real because I am loved.

Hi Julie, I think as bloggers we all feel this way at times. I know I have. Hearing God and being obedient to His leading, you can't go wrong. You'll be in my prayers,
Debra

I'm learning that obedience is better than multitasking, blogging, and FB.

And everything else.

Blessings on your break.

Sweet dreams.

Do what you need to do. I am always in favor of cutting back. May you be blessed in what God has called you to do. It's been a pleasure meeting you here on the internet.

None of us are good at juggling -- we just think we are. It catches up with us sooner or later. Great that you caught it sooner.

Hope your hiatus has been hope-filled and refreshing, Julie.

Praise the LORD for your writing. I believe you will be more fruitful because you are following His lead and not the lead of man.

Hugs and Happy Easter!

Dear Julie, I have been out of action too for some of the very same reasons. Take care ... juggling does get the better of you. Pray you will come back rejuvenated and happier. Hope you progress with your writing. Have a Blessed Easter.

I hear you sister! In fact I've been cutting way back on blogging and visiting so much that I'm just now getting here.
