I asked God for two things this weekend: an overflowing love for the women he's called me to serve, and that I might somehow be a blessing to others at the conference, even though I'm a nobody from nowhere. And let me tell you, God did not disappoint. Because if there's one thing I've figured out, it's that He delights in using nobodies from nowhere, and He wants nothing more than to fill us with His love until it's absolutely oozing out of every fiber of our beings and splashing out onto anyone who happens to wonder by.
I made some wonderful new friends, like Emily, who touched me with her precious, tender heart. And Carol, who, in spite of her wacky humor, has deep treasures stored in hers. I hung out with Melinda, a writing friend I've known for several years, and spent some time with Lisa, an official code geek--with a calm, sweet spirit.
In one of my less lady-like moments, I nearly tackled author Tom Davis in the hall. He's one of the best writers on the planet, all for the cause of defending and assisting orphans worldwide. Thanks, Renee, for taking this picture for me. (And did I even think of getting a picture with Renee and her sweet little Aster? Unfathomably, no.)
Tom Davis and me!
I also chatted with Cecil Murphy, author of over 100 books and every writer's friend. What a blessing he is to every person called to wield a pen.
Me with Cecil Murphy
There's more. Lots more. But my brain cells are still floating who-knows-where. And a girl needs her brain cells even more than a good concealer, a shoulder massage, and chocolate--all put together. In the meantime, I float.

It sounds amazing!! I'm glad every minute was worth it!
Sounds wonderous! :O)
Sounds as though you had a wonderful time. Isn't it great to meet people we admire so much?
I'm so glad you got what you prayed for Julie! Loved hearing a little about your time, and I cannot wait to see all God does through you in the months to come! Hugs!
Julie,
I can definitely relate to floating! My heart and my brain will be full for a very long time.
My only regret is not meeting you. It was not for lack of trying! And when I did finally spot you...the shuttle door closed and you were on your way to the airport. No kidding! Maybe next time.
Hope you have time today to breathe deeply.

Oh, yeah! I knew it would be good! God bless your willingness and caring spirit.
What a wonderful time it sounds like you had! I've had the privilege of meeting and talking with Cec Murphey, also. What a blessing!
Praise God for floating. I can't wait to hear more!! You are somebody from somewhere. There are no nobodies in God's kingdom. :)
One thing I learned, is that God takes nobodies and makes them into somebody when it includes service to His people. It sounds like and amazing time.
It was so great to see you too, Julie. I, for one, can tell you that you were a huge blessing and encouragement to me.
I'm excited to see how your ministry grows at Proverbs 31!
What a joy it was to meet you!! And you're so right about Cec! He's the best!
Julie-
I have to say you blessed me immensely at She Speaks. You read my article because I was late to the critique group due to a late publisher meeting. Then you told Glynnis about my article and she asked me to submit it to her. That was all a HUGE blessing to me!
By the way, Glynnis said my article was not a fit for the P31 magazine, but suggested I submit it to Rachel for the P31 daily devotionals. I am awaiting a template so I can do just that.
Thank you for allowing God to use you at She Speaks!
Wow, I know it was a lot to take in. I hope you will share more God moments. I want to catch up on what God is doing with you Julie. I know...how about sky writing while you are floating in the clouds. smiles from me and God. B
