He Gets You

More Jesus in My Day is a new feature you'll find here at my blog every Thursday. Designed to lead you straight to the Savior, each short post offers simple, practical ways to know Him more.

If you’ve ever felt misunderstood, you know the confusion and even the hurt that can result. Even simple miscommunications can create sticky situations and hard feelings all around, despite our best efforts. The good news is Jesus never misunderstands us. He knows your heart and He knows your thoughts. Isn’t that a relief?

The next time you feel misunderstood, remember that Jesus understands. So go ahead and tell Him exactly what is in your heart without worrying about trying to phrase it just right or hoping He gets it. Because the truth is, He gets it. And He totally gets you—better than anyone else ever will.

Today if someone misunderstands something you say or do, you can grin while you declare (aloud, if possible): Jesus, it’s okay, because You understand. You totally get me!

O Lord, You have searched me thoroughly and have known me. You know my downsitting and my uprising; You understand my thoughts afar off. (Psalm 139: 1-2)

Psalm 139 has got to be my all time favorite. I was single until I was 42, and Ps. 139 was such a comfort. It assured me I was intimately known even when I was so lonely.

A beautiful post and reminder, Julie. Thank you.

Julie,

This is such a great reminder. Thank you Jesus. Jesus really does "get me", I guess I should trust the One who created me more, right?! Love, Hester ;)

Amen, Julie! I was just thanking the Lord for the fact that He does indeed know me better than I know myself a few minutes ago!

Keep going strong!
