When It Really Hurts

Run to Me when you are hurt.

Like a child who scrapes her knee races to her daddy, arms outstretched and tears rolling, run to Me.

And I will scoop you into My arms and tenderly tend to your wound and bandage your heart. I will cradle you, softly rocking back and forth until your tears stop.

Over time if it still hurts you can show Me. Let me be your refuge, your strength, and your high tower, and I will apply fresh ointment and a new bandage. And together we will sit—you in My lap—as I soothe your hair and whisper that everything will be okay. Because I am your healer.

My understanding is inexhaustible and boundless, and my plans for you are good. Though your situation may not change, I will heal you and strengthen you. I will never leave your side because I love you. You are My precious daughter and I Am always, always with you.

Whenever it starts to hurt again, come to me. I will hold you, your arms around my neck, our hearts touching.

And when I finally let you go you will run and play and My joy will fill you. Because I restore all things. Because you are precious to Me. And because you are My treasure.

Your Heavenly Father

Dear sister Julie, so good to know you through your profile on the blogger. I was glad to stop by your blog's recent post of dated 28th May "When it really hurts". I am so encouraged by your post. Also came to know about you as a writer and the book you have writtenHelping Women believe, pray and dream (more). I would love to have a copy of this book. I am in the Pastoral ministry in the great city of Mumbai, India for last 33 yrs. I am tempted to invite you to conduct some Seminars for women in the Churches in Mumbai which would help them in the areas which your book speaks about. It would be really so strengthening for the church at large in Mumbai. I am not thinking of one Denomination but all denominations. We definately lack resources to have such seminars for women taking them out of their work place and having two to three days Retreat will built their confidence. If you are interested my email id is: dhwankhede(at)gmail(dot)com and my name is Diwakar Wankhede. I am serving the Lord through Church of the Nazarene.

Julie, I LOVE this prayer.....thanks! Assume it is in your book, which I still want to get.
Your ministry is such a blessing!
Need prayers for health issues (painful) and many needs of a dear relative.

Oh, thank you, Julie. I needed to read this today. ((HUG))

I also read this, this morning: read this, this morning: "This High Priest of ours (Jesus Christ) understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy and we will find grace to help us when we need it most." Hebrews 4:15-16 :)
