A Prayer to Boost Your Faith {And a Give-Away!}

At once the father of the boy gave [an eager, piercing, inarticulate] cry with tears, and he said, Lord I believe! [Constantly] help my weakness of faith! (Mark 9:24) (AMPC)

Why is believing sometimes so dang hard? Wouldn’t it be grand to simply hear God’s promise, nod our heads in agreement and *poof* we would always deeply believe, and no pesky reality could create doubt or discouragement to dissuade us?

Even when we sense a holy promise that makes us twirl with joy, unbelief can show up like an uninvited guest, stepping all over and toes and utterly ruining our dance of joy.

I think authentic belief flourishes when we admit our need—when we turn to the Lord and honestly confess our feeble faith and our powerlessness to do anything about it. When we admit the truth, it frees us. When we express our vital need for God to help us, like the father in the verse above, Jesus not only strengthens our faith, He does what we cannot. {Hallelujah!}

Here is a prayer to get you started when your faith feels feebly small and glaringly inadequate. And that is okay, because the truth is God’s power works best in weakness. Always. (See 2 Corinthians 12:9)

Lord, I want to believe You. In fact, I do. I know that You are able to do all things, and that no thought or purpose of Yours can be restrained or thwarted (Job 42:2). But then sometimes reality overshadows my faith. Please help me, Lord. Strengthen my heart, increase my faith. Help me to trust You. Help me to look away from all that distracts and focus on You, Jesus. Oh God I am grateful that Your power works best in weakness. Do a mighty work! Show Yourself strong and be glorified in this situation. Help my unbelief. In the strong name of Jesus, Amen.

Father, You are good. You are sovereign. You are on Your throne and nothing, absolutely nothing surprises you. Why am I so sad over this current situation (Psalm 42:11)? I KNOW that You will provide. Help me Lord to fully let go and let YOU. I love you, Lord.

In the name of your Holy Son and my Savior,Jesus Christ,
Amen

Your prayers often kick start mine each morning; THANK YOU.
Sometimes the words of my mouth cause pain to one son, so my prayer is:
[Jabez] I called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.
May He grant mine also.

Lord thank You so much for Your love and for caring for me before I knew You. For never giving up on my sin sick soul. For revealing Your character to me through Your Word and all I come into contact with. For allowing little Ole me to bring You glory and honor. Amen.

Dear Lord, I am praying for so many people that need healing. I know you are the Father of all, and it is by your stripes we are healed. You have plans for all to have a hope and a future, and you know each of these by name that need your healing touch. I lift them up to you and ask these things in your precious Son's name. Amen.

Thank you Lord that there's not a moment when your not with me encouraging me with your Love and beautiful promises. Sometimes even just taking the next step seems like an impossible task and yet somehow in your love, care and faithfulness you keep me...you keep my heart, my hopes, my dreams and me with all of my fears struggles and tears in the palm of your hands and hold me there...close to your heart.

"Lord, I'm so grateful for the 'lock eyes' kind of relationship You're developing in me. As for the big problems over there, I lay them in Your lap again, like broken toys...but so much more precious than toys.
