An Encouraging New Devotional for Caregivers

Hi friends! I’m thrilled to offer an encouraging new devotional especially for caregivers, releasing on November 11, 2025 and now available for pre-order.

This is my fourth book, and it holds a special place in my heart. It is tenderly written with deep love and respect for every caregiver's journey, because I myself have been walking through a season of caregiving for the past five years. My eyes welled with tears when I finished writing this book, because I sensed that caregivers hold a very special place in God's heart. He is close to each of us as we walk through the often challenging but precious in His sight caregiving season.

Here's more info:

Overflowing Grace: Finding Strength to Carry On as a Caregiver (A 60-Day Devotional) points stressed, exhausted caregivers to Christ and His sustaining strength and grace through Scripture, relevant teaching, and sweet encouragement. It reminds readers that their current caregiving journey is a divine assignment and they are not alone. Every devotion offers a related prayer to support and reassure caregivers in the life-changing, often overwhelming, and always challenging task of caregiving.

Whether you are caring for a spouse, a grandchild, or a parent; whether you are a long-term caregiver or in the caregiving role for a season, Julie’s book will strengthen and support you through your caregiving journey.

If you are a caregiver or know someone who is, my fervent prayer is that this book will equip and strengthen every reader as they walk through their caregiving season.

🌻The most vital key for not just surviving but thriving your season of caregiving is to stay close to Jesus. My husband, Bill and I just completed a ten-year assignment of caregiving his elderly parents-- what surprised us was the past three years-- I was plunged into a coma, then as I recovered, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer! Bill was caregiving his folks and me! That is EXACTLY WHY caregivers need wise, empathetic, and biblical encouragement like author Julie Gillies creates! You just never know what might be next! This book is a LIFELINE of HOPE!  - Pam and Bill Farrel, bestselling authors of over 60 books, including Men Are Like Waffles, Women Are Like Spaghetti, and Pam's coauthored Discovering Hope in the Psalms: A Creative Bible Study Experience. Co- Directors of Love- Wise Ministries

🌻If you’re a caregiver or know a caregiver needing strength and encouragement for the journey, Overflowing Grace can help. Having been in the trenches herself, Julie Gillies speaks into the lives of other caregivers with reassuring, scripture-infused words that empathize, uplift, and give needed insight. A caregiver myself, I especially found Julie’s prayers to be a balm for my weary heart as I made them my own. Julie points caregivers to the Lord—where they’ll find the unfailing strength they need. –Cheryl Barker, author of Christmas for the Heart: 25 Devotions Reclaiming the Beauty and Wonder of the Season

🌻Having a father diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease at age 56, I understand the weary weightiness of being a caregiver…and so does Julie Gillies. With honesty and vulnerability, she becomes a friend who understands what you’re going through. These short devotions are like a warm hug from God when you need it most. I highly recommend Julie’s book and wish I’d had it years ago. - Sharon Jaynes is the author of 26 books including When You Don’t Like Your Story: What if Your Worst Chapters Could Become Your Greatest Victories and The Power of a Woman’s Words: How the Words You Speak Shape the Lives of Others.

🌻Caregiving is overwhelming, exhausting, and often pushes us to our limits. It’s also a blessing, a gift, and an opportunity to give something precious to someone we love dearly. It’s easy when caregiving, however, to lose ourselves. Julie Gillies understands this and the words on these pages will fill your soul so you have what you need to continue caregiving. - Jill Savage, Host of the No More Perfect Podcast and author of 199 Prayers for Your Husband

🌻I wholeheartedly recommend this sacred resource to anyone who is walking the road of caregiving and wondering if they can keep going. Julie reminds us—we don’t do this in our own strength. We do it with God’s sustaining grace.-Pat Layton,  Author of Life Unstuck: Finding Peace with your Past, Purpose in your Present and Passion for your Future and and Surrendering the Secret: Healing the Heartbreak of Abortion
