A Divine Interruption

Our entire summer was planned, down to the last detail.

Josh, our 19 year old son, would be heading to Germany to visit his aunt and uncle for three weeks, and his first trip to Europe. Our 13 year old daughter was heading off to her first-ever camp, and this tired mom was going to have lots of blissfully uninterrupted writing time.

And then the e-mail arrived. The one inviting our daughter to be an extra in a movie...and get paid. And fitted. And excited.

Really excited.

So friends, I am not home this week or next week, (and possibly the week after that) enjoying a quiet house and productive writing time. Instead, I am driving from Florida to Michigan (where the movie is filming), with a pit stop in Tennessee to visit family. Cuz that's how this mama rolls. She walks through the doors that God opens for her daughter, even if it means surrendering her own plans. (Son is still heading to Europe.)

I will be traveling with my girl, a laptop, a Nikon, and lots of low-cal snacks. Hubby hopes to join us later. I just might post an occasional update (maybe even pictures of some actors - stay tuned). And I'm praying that I can still make the writing deadlines ahead of me, including the preparation for She Speaks.

Deep sigh.

My series on suffering, Excuse Me God? There's Been a Drastic Mistake... will resume once we arrive home from this little detour. Word Chicks - and everyone involved with or going to She Speaks - you will remain in my prayers!

How about you? Have you taken any unexpected detours lately?

Oh,Julie, this sounds like a good start to another series...God's Divine Interruptions (Excuse me, God, is this another mistake?) :)

Life is full of detours, isn't it?! That's how I ended up here in Iowa...one divine interruption. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Glad your daughter has a mama who rolls with the punches. What a neat experience for her!

Oh Julie! I can't say I'm at all disappointed to know you'll be up my way. I suspect you're pretty excited about everything, too. And isn't the weather up here nicer than Florida this time of year anyway?
