A Royal Kiss

Don't tell William and Kate, but I watched most of the royal wedding in my bathrobe. And as I sipped a cup of tea, I couldn't help but sigh.

At one time or another, we've all imagined marrying a handsome prince and living happily ever after. We've daydreamed of royal balls and carriage rides and beautiful gowns. It's simply the way God made us--with a longing for romance, a desire to feel beautiful, and a yearning to be cherished and utterly, deeply loved.

And every flawless, beautiful moment of the royal wedding somehow spoke to my heart of Jesus' flawless, beautiful love for me. The pomp and splendor so seamlessly executed revealed a stunning picture of His extravagant love, a love so strong that it lead to death.

Yes, the royal wedding was filled with moments of authentic love that captivated my heart, especially the royal kiss(es). I realized that God's magnificent love has kissed my heart, and I am radiant because of it.

My sweet friends, we may never participate in a royal wedding on this earth, but His extravagant, unending love crowns us nonetheless. Even when we're lounging in our bathrobes.

Kiss me and kiss me again,
for your love is sweeter than wine.
Song of Solomon 1:2

Sigh.

With a Prince that has wooed our hearts from the beginning of eternity, it's no wonder so many of us loved the royal wedding...

So thankful we are His chosen Bride! His princesses! Bathrobe or not bathrobe. :) Always enjoy your posts, Julie.

No, we may not get to participate in a Royal Wedding here on earth, but we've sure got one to look forward to in heaven. Can't imagine how glorious that will be!

What a blovely post. Well, being a Londoner,I couldn't get away from the royal wedding but didn't want to. I watched it all and found it vastly entertaining and touching.

Who said commitment wasn't sexy? :o)

I loved this! A very poetic way to look at the wedding, and relate it to Jesus. Thank you for the lovely visual ---

My prince and I have been married for thirty two years.

And he still makes me feel like I'm a princess.

(Well, most of the time).

Sweet dreams.
