More Jesus in My Day

More Jesus in My Day is a new feature you'll find here at my blog every Thursday. Designed to lead you straight to the Savior, each short post offers simple, practical ways to know Him more.

When you come across a scripture that creates a longing in your heart, turn it into a prayer right then—don’t wait. By simply personalizing the scripture you make it yours, and it becomes a powerful prayer, like this: “I will set my mind and keep it set on things above—the higher things— not on the things that are on the earth.” (Colossians 3:2)

Because God’s word is living and active, (Hebrews 4:12) and because God watches over His word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12), we are not only praying a powerful prayer, we are coming into agreement with God’s word. And since Jesus is the Word made flesh (John 1:14), we are creating room for and inviting Him into our lives on a deeper level.

In the beginning (before all time) was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. (John 1:1)

I really like the style you are using for this series, Julie.

It is practical and short. Just how I learn.

Like this new series, Julie.

I appreciate the wisdom to "not wait" to put the scripture to prayer.

I am currently going through some hard things and I have found such comfort in His Word. It really is "alive"!
