{My Identity} Week 5 Mid -Week Follow Up

This week for the Prayers for a Woman's Soul Online Study you were encouraged to shred the lies you have believed about yourself and replace those lies with the truth of God’s word.

Are you sensing newness in your very core? Because that is what God wants to do in us—renew us in the very center of our being so that our once-stolen identities are replaced with a fresh, new, truthful version. That way you can be the best YOU that you can be!

As God continues to transform you and replace your old identity with a fresh, new identity, you may have moments that you react in your old way, or times when you momentarily believe you are still your old self. That’s why I’d like to suggest that you write out your new core identity statements on a 3x5 card and tuck it into your purse or lay it on your nightstand. That way, when the old identity comes sneaking up to steal your new, real identity, you will be prepared and able to stand in truth.

Remember, we need to study, absorb, accept and believe the truth of God’s Word and all it declares us to be.

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Keep praying and declaring truth over your identity, sweet friends. And know that I am linking arms in agreement with you!

I’d love to hear your experience as you’ve prayed this week. Please leave me a comment and share your heart about what you've discovered concerning your identity. If you are reading this via email please CLICK HERE to leave your comment.

Don’t forget, there is a thriving (completely optional) Prayers for a Woman’s Soul community FACEBOOK PAGE and you’re invited to participate.

It's been quite a journey with God lately. Although sometimes I miss the Initial weekly email on the study, I usually see and read some of the mid week and it is exactly what God is doing in my life. I was struggling with lies I believe about myself earlier this week, so I wrote a list identifying the lies, then a list of the truth of how God views me. God refreshed me so much and I have found a new sense of freedom in my identity in him. Then this morning I read through the study and it is exactly what God has been doing all week in my life. I love how we are all so deeply connected as Christians. I have loved the topics addressed in the study.

So often we hear Satan's voice over the Lord's. We need to reverse that by putting God's word in our hearts and minds.

Thank You Julie for checking in on us mid-week. I love your book, the prayers and scriptures at the end of the chapter just brings it all together for me. There is so much negative in this world and God is so good to remind us in His Word that we are his masterpiece, His daughters, and still satan is prowling around waiting for a little opening to get at us. I have started to just ask the Lord not to leave me and to speak His truth to me when I start to feel attacked, Satan uses even family to attack us. I know satans lies and rebuke him. I have my 3x5 card out and ready. Thank You...Blessings Anna

I started writing the scripture verses on index cards several months ago. But I love the idea of writing out our new core identity statements too, along with scripture and a prayer. I know that I struggled for a long time with believing Satan's lies, but this study has helped me alot. This week I find I have been at peace. I find that I have slowly been replacing the enemies lies when they creep in with God's word; and I say a quick prayer thanking God for who He is, that He loves me. I know that He is always with me, providing me with what I need to stand firm in His truth - My heart is at rest. Thank you Father for your love, grace, mercy, and truth. Thank you for helping me see that by surrendering my fears & doubts, my negative thoughts and bad attitudes; you have set me free. I will trust you and believe your word - you are my strength and my shield. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. and Father I pray for all the woman involved in this study that they too will have peace in their hearts, and I continue to pray for Julie our leader of this study - Grant her wisdom, keep her strong as she continues to lead us. Amen.
